Somatic Movement Series

strengthening     unwinding     integrating
Movement is a requirement for healing from anything

This movement series is for you if:

  • You've become more sedentary than you want to be.

  • You're constantly fatigued.

  • You've experienced burnout.

  • You have a history of over-exercising.

  • You struggle to recover after exercise.

  • You have chronic pain.

  • You've been dealing with chronic health issues.

  • You're doing all the therapy and nervous system regulation things but things aren't shifting enough.

  • You've rested for years and things aren't getting better.

What is it?

A 4-week movement program.

One class each week.

60-90 minutes in length.

A completely new approach to fitness

This program takes a somatic approach to strength building, fascia release, mobility work, posture realignment, breath retraining, and more. It even includes opportunities for developmental trauma integration!

Led by an integrative trauma therapist and certified fitness instructor who combines a wide range of modalities to ensure a truly holistic and healing somatic experience.

Each class will flow through grounding therapeutic techniques, body weight exercises, stress release practices, fascial stretching and mobility work, and restorative postures. All the while focusing on proper realignment of the spine and breath mechanics that allow for sustainable nervous system regulation.

The series is meant to help participants feel stronger and safer in their bodies, resolve unintegrated stress and emotions, and move through daily life with more confidence, trust, and agency.

Hi I'm Jenna.

I became a group fitness instructor back in 2007. Not long after that, I started and completed a masters degree in clinical social work and began a psychotherapy practice.

My therapeutic focus has always been: a somatic (body-based) approach to trauma recovery. I'm trained in things like EMDR, Internal Family Systems, Somatic Attachment Therapy, and Applied Polyvagal Theory.

Body awareness, movement, touch, and breath are the most potent interventions I've discovered for health and wellbeing.

I'm also someone who's experienced a TON of chronic health and burnout-related struggles. In more recent years, I've had to modify my approach to movement and experiment with new modalities. Ultimately, I created my own version of healing movement that I'm ready to share with the world.

This 4-week series offers you:

  • somatic therapy techniques

  • developmental trauma support

  • posture rehabilitation

  • breath retraining

  • pelvic floor support

  • strength training

  • fascia release

  • joint mobility

  • restoration and integration

All in the comfort of your own home. Alongside a community. Available for you to return to again and again.

Don't be fooled by the "all rest all the time" narrative. Nor by the "go big or go home" ideas.

There IS a better way. A human way that honours all of you.

FAQ's

Let me answer your questions

Is it time-limited?

We begin on May 19th but when you join, the classes will always be available to you.

Will I be able to ask questions?

Yes - there is an open community chat forum for us to connect, ask questions, share experiences. I'll be active in that group and eager to support your process with the series.

How much time do I need to commit to this?

Each class is 60-90 minutes in length. You can do each class once, or several times before moving onto the next. The series offers a complete approach to fitness and somatic self-care.

Do I need to know about the specific modalities you use before I try them?

Not at all! I provide all the instruction necessary for you to experiment with different modalities.

Is this only for people who are already in shape?

Not at all - this program can support people just getting started, those who've developed unhealthy habits around movement, and anyone who's curious about a healing approach to movement!

Is it safe for people with trauma?

This program is trauma-sensitive and meant to support a trauma resolution process. And, trauma triggers are unique to each individual, so please be prepared to support yourself should things come up during the classes.

Will this be too hard for me?

Each class is designed to help you listen to your body and your limits. We recover from each strength challenge with somatic releases, various forms of stretching, and rest.

Is there an app?

Yes! The program is available on the Spaces by Wix app so you have it with you on the go.
